GDPR: is your SME ready for the new privacy regulations?

The General European Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has been in effect since 25 May 2018. Not sure whether your IT infrastructure meets all the requirements? Our cloud solutions are fully GDPR compliant. Read on to find out why.

A quick reminder: the GDPR is a package of measures that gives EU citizens more control over the use of their personal data. Whether you are the CEO of a multinational company, are a self-employed accountant or run a small law firm: chances are that you process personal data that belongs to your customers, employees and/or suppliers.

Under the GDPR, you must be able to demonstrate that you have taken all the required technical and organizational measures to protect this data.

In short: the GDPR has large-scale implications for every one of us.

Double responsibility

An important and complex aspect of the new privacy regulation is that you not only have to make sure that you are compliant with the new regulations, but that all the solutions and services you use to process this data are compliant as well.

The final responsibility is yours: you have to make sure that the partners with whom you collaborate protect your data adequately. If you treat personal data carelessly, you may risk a hefty fine.

4 reasons to place your confidence in ASPEX

ASPEX is the cloud partner of numerous SMEs. Rest assured that ASPEX stores all the personal data from your business securely. Better yet: our solutions, such as Flowdesk, contain a number of smart features to secure your data.

1. Secure hosting

Our systems fully conform to the statutory regulations. Our two Belgian data centers, as well as the data centers of our partners abroad, guarantee the ultimate security of your data. Your data will never cross EU borders. The partner with whom we collaborate in the USA has an EU-US certificate (Privacy Shield) and many other certificates (ISO 27001/17/18,  SOC2, ...) that proves that your data is adequately secured, processed and screened off.

2. Encryption against theft

By encrypting your data, you can safeguard the confidentiality of it. A solution like Flowdesk encrypts all data. In transit as well as at rest. While the data is moving between your device and Flowdesk, it can’t be intercepted. Only the scrambled encrypted data is visible. By encrypting the data at rest, the risk of a data breach are reduced

3. Office 365

Thanks to Microsoft Office 365, a fixed component of Flowdesk, you can be assured of enjoying the utmost privacy and security. You can easily manage who has access to your data and files. Advanced features such as Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection protect your email program against even the most sophisticated cyber attacks.

4. Operations Management Suite

What if you want more? In that case, you can incorporate the Operations Management Suite into your package: we will take care of updates and guarantee the stability of your IT infrastructure so that everything remains GDPR compliant. On top of that, we also take proactive action. This will give you a tremendous advantage over any potential hackers.
